2024 Ford Ranger Car Review, Specs, Features, Price & More!

Ford’s midsize Ranger pickup truck is being redesigned for the 2024 model year.  It uses a bold frontal design inspired by the larger F-150. An all-wheel-drive system is optional and we’ll see a hybrid powertrain option join the line-up.

There are two body styles: a four-door crew cab and a long cab model with two rear half doors.  The cabin gets a similar facelift with a large vertically oriented infotainment system similar to that found on the Edge SUV. Ford will introduce a completely redesigned Ranger in 2024.  It is currently in its fourth generation.

The 2024 Ranger is expected to be similar to the Global Ranger that Ford introduced in November 2021.  Pickup trucks should adopt a boxier, rugged design with C-shaped daytime running lights, a chunky grille, and a chunky front fascia.  Ford’s designers should incorporate some of the design elements found on the F-150 and Maverick into a family look with the brand’s other trucks.

According to Ford Authority, the high-performance off-road model will debut in the US next year.  Ford Authority also spied on what appeared to be a Super Cab Ranger prototype equipped with a Tremor off-road package.  This is notable because you can only get the Tremor to pack with Super Crew along with the old Ranger.

2024 Ford Ranger Prices & Trim levels.

We expect the 2024 Ford Ranger to start at around $30,000.  Assuming the new generation keeps the trim level line-up the same as before, that applies to the base XL trim with rear-wheel drive and the Super Cab, which is the smaller of the two cabs available.

The Ranger is available in five trims: XL, XLT, Lariat, sport, and Wild Trak.

  • XL: $30,000
  • XLT: $32,355
  • Sport: $34,455
  • Lariat: $36,455
  • Wild Trak: $40,350

Ford has yet to release official photos of the Ranger.  Stay tuned for more details on the all-new 2024 Ford Ranger!

2024 Ford Ranger Release Date

The new Ford Ranger 2024 will be released as the next generation model of the Ford Ranger 2024. It will be a completely new design with new powers. So, the 2024 Ford Ranger will be available in the second half of 2023 or late 2023 for the 2024 model year.

The Ranger 6G forum got what appears to be a vendor release, along with an updated schedule for the Ranger.  Their timeline starts with orders for the Ranger starting on May 26, 2023, with production starting on August 7, 2023.

The schedule cannot be confirmed.  However, we do note that we have yet to hear any information from Ford regarding the launch of the 2024 Ford Ranger.  So, when the Ranger order book opens in May, the product launch is possible.

2024 Ford Ranger Specs

Even if Ford can pull off the Switcheroo, we’re guessing the new Ranger will come with the same turbocharged 2.3-liter four-cylinder as the outgoing model with 270 hp and 310 lb-ft of torque.  In our experience, this engine provides enough power to get around a midsize truck, and we don’t expect that to change in the new model.  Ford has said it will offer a turbo-diesel V-6 in other markets, but it won’t make it to North America.  A variety of transmissions are available, including a six-speed manual and a 10-speed automatic, but we suspect Ford will stick with the 10-speed as standard equipment on US Rangers.

2024 Ford Ranger Interior

2024 Ford Ranger Interior

The interior of the Ford Ranger has undergone several improvements to make it more spacious and comfortable.  It’s a good idea to use pickup cargo lights to see inside the truck bed.

The rear and front cup-holders are perfect for keeping drinks close at hand, and the tracking system is a great way to keep track of your new Ford Ranger’s location.  A manual air conditioner and a compass are both great tools to acquire.  Thanks to the fade-to-off interior lighting feature, Raptor’s lighting can be tailored to your liking.  Keeping your Ranger’s interior spotlessly clean is easy with full rubber flooring.  Pickup Cargo Box Lights and Smart Device Remote Engine Start are two great ways to start your Ranger’s engine without getting in the vehicle.

Ford Co-Pilot360’s advanced driver-assistance technology is also standard on the Ranger.  This bundle includes Cross Traffic Alert, Lane Keeping Alert, Lane Keeping Assist, and Departure Alert.

Ford Ranger Towing, Payload Capacity, and Fuel Economy

When looking for a new vehicle, keep towing capacity and fuel economy in mind.  Of course, no one wants to park on the side of the road with a vehicle that can’t handle the load.  We estimate the Ford Ranger to have a towing capacity of 8000 pounds, a payload capacity of 1900 pounds, and 23 mpg city and 28 mpg highway fuel economy.

2024 Ford Ranger Warranty and maintenance coverage

The Ford Ranger is a great vehicle with a strong frame, decent engine and gearbox options, and a comfortable interior.  In terms of warranty, however, the 2024 Ranger lags behind competitors like the Chevrolet Colorado and Toyota Tacoma.  The Ranger comes with several warranties covering different parts of the vehicle.

  • Standard warranty – 3 years

Conclusion

The release date of the 2024 Ford Ranger has not yet been confirmed.  The 2023 model is still in production.  The next-generation Ford Ranger will go into production after the 2023 model year.  The next generation will take a reasonable amount of time to prepare, as the company plans to introduce new designs and cabins.  Ford trucks are very popular in the world market.  Expanding your range of diversity improves brand marketing.  Pricing has not yet been finalized.  This is because brands can only see if they have spent on production costs and the changes they want to make.
